Create Impact, Join an LVEA Committee

You can actively make a difference in the success of LVEA by participating in one of our committees. You have the opportunity to collaborate on projects that drive tangible results, whether it’s spearheading initiatives, getting social or giving back to the community.

Maintaining member attendance levels at LVEA meetings and outside LVEA events is crucial to our success. This committee reviews attendance reports and follows up with anyone who is not 50% active in the organization. The committee meets once a quarter and reports the results to the Board.

The Golf Tournament is an unforgettable time for networking, camaraderie and friendly competition. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just getting into the swing of things, this event promises an extraordinary experience for members and their guests. The committee is responsible for signing up participants, getting sponsors, acquiring prizes and more. The first meeting is usually a few months prior to the event, then the committee meets monthly, then weekly leading up to the month of the tournament.

The Membership Committee carefully reviews all membership proposals submitted by the Recruitment Committee and makes recommendations to the Board, while upholding the high expectations of LVEA values. This committee meets once a month.

Member retention is vital to the longevity of LVEA. The more a new member understands about the organization, the longer they will participate. Each committee member is assigned a new LVEA member for 6 months. The mentor provides guidance on classification talks, the importance of attendance, extracurricular events, the website, being a greeter, joining committees and more. The committee meets once a month.

This committee has a multitude of responsibilities, including sourcing relevant outside speakers, brainstorming ideas for meetings, assisting members with their classification talks, as well as helping facilitate member special events and open houses. The committee also assists in the December Toys For Kids (TFK) Party with registration, sorting gifts and more.

This committee plays an essential role in attracting, retaining and engaging best-of-class members. They actively research new members, invite prospective members to meetings, meet with guests (at meetings), assist them with questions, recommend prospective members for membership and understand the LVEA membership criteria. The Recruitment Committee meets once a month.

Our important Referrals Sessions occur twice monthly during our weekly meetings. This committee monitors the session: one person at the podium who directs the session and another who passes a microphone around the room to those who have leads. There is also a members-only Referrals Portal on the LVEA website.

Toys For Kids is our signature philanthropic event of the year. Each year, a local children’s charitable organization is chosen to be the recipient of our generosity. The committee starts meeting in September/October to solicit the membership for names of organizations that would benefit from receiving toys and monetary gifts during the holiday season. Top candidates are reviewed and the chosen charity is announced by Thanksgiving. Representatives of the charity are honored guests at the end-of-the-year Toys For Kids event where they receive mountains of toys, checks and gift cards.
